Write an appeal to use handloom products in our daily life from textbook page no.102
Dear fellow citizens of the country, let us adopt the clothes made by our country's weaver's. Theses are environment-friendly as they are usually woven on handloom, which do not cause pollution. There is a certain rustic charm about a hand- woven fabric that makes the user or weaver feel proud of our country self-sufficiency in making clothes for its citizens. Tou have to wear such clothes only once to experience their beauty and comfort. I assume that all of as you must have used handloom- made bed sheets or curtains of cotton in your house at some time. Please recall how simple and elegant they look and enhance the aesthetic appeal of your home. Friends, please remember that preferring handloom products over western fabric is not just about making an ethic statement but its also serves the social purpose of supporting the livelihoods of thousands of native weavers in our country, who are not doing financially well anymore. The government can implement welfare schemes for them but the ultimately falls in the court of buyers like us. So let's all unite for a cause and go Swadesh.!!

We are familiar with the saying, 'Be indian, buy indian'.but do we really follow it? Aren't we running after imported products turning down our indigenous things? indian handloom is such a craze among the foreigners. We, the Indians are neglecting them. Is it fair? Friends, let us face the reality. Indian artisans are starving, committing suicide, running away from their profession to migrate to the cities and their art is dying. Aren't we responsible for killing their invaluable talents? We need to encourage them by buying their products and keep the flame of Indian handloom burning bright.from kashmir to Kanyakumari, Indian handicrafts are testimonies of rich Indian culture. The rural painters are creating magic with vegetable colours.Indian fabric has so much of variety and they also reflect our diverse culture.
ReplyDeleteSo, friends, what are we waiting for? Your next purchase should be an indian handloom product .
