What is an interview?

An interview irefers to a one-on-one conversation between an interviewer and an interviewee . a structured conversation where one participant asks questions, and the other provides answers.

Aims , objectives and purposes of an  interview:-
  • Create relation between interviewer and interviewee
  • Gain inner feelings of the respondent
  • Collect information’s about an existing social problem
  • Create a source of knowledge
  • Collect additional information’s
  • Gain new knowledge about an area.

Let us see how to write interview based questions:
  • Give a short introduction to the situation for which the interview is beIng conducted.
  • Begin with a cordial welcome.
  • Questions should emerge from immediate context.
  • They should be asked in the natural course of things.
  •  Do not use too many yes/ no questions (maximum 2)
  • You can ask open - ended questions, hypothetical questions and closed questions
  •  Have a thanks  giving conclusion

Marking scheme  (05marks)
  • Introductory and concluding question – 01m mark
  • Probing questions relevant to the situation – 01 mark
  • Proper sequence of question - 02 marks
  • Language , style and grammar -01mark

You are the class representative and you have been asked by the principal to conduct an interview of a cop. Frame 8 to 10 questions with the help of the help of following points , give introduction and conclusion

a.    REASONS for joining the DEPARTMENT
b.    SPECIAL TRAININGS
c.    Developing the skill to identify AND LOCATE CRIMINALS
d.    DEALING with CRIMINALS
e.    ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS

Good morning Mr.Kadam. Congratulation on your excellent work in finding the bank robbers. May I ask you a few questions about your life ? Thank you

1.    When did you join the police department?
2.    Which examination we did you have to clear for the post ?
3.    What were your reason for joining the department? 4.    Did you have to go through any special training sessions ?
5.    What type of criminals do you come across most in this area thieves,  killers,  molesters etc?
6.    How do you identify or locate criminals?
7.     Once you catch the culprits  say a thief how do you deal with him ?
8.    Can you tell me something about your achievements and awards ?
9.    How can you motivate others to join the force ?
10.    Who is your motivational ?
11.    How do you manage your professional and personal life?
12.    What message would you like to give to the college students ?
